HSM is now firmly established in the UK market. Whilst total HSM worldwide sales turnover increased in 2002 by over 10% to 56.5 Million Euros, the U.K is now one of their key markets and continued to double sales, compared with the same month the previous year.

HSM-NewLogo

The company is now the leading supplier of shredders to Spicers. In addition, their products have recently been included in the catalogues of five of the major dealer groups.

To keep pace with the expansion new, purpose built premises have recently been constructed at Burntwood near Cannock. The new central location will further improve the company’s facilities and customer service.

Further recognising HSM’s success in the UK and the German parents commitment to invest in the future, the UK divisions have become an operating Company in their own right. As a result the name and the legal identity has been changed to HSM UK Limited. Many of the administration and accounting functions will now be undertaken at the new offices.

Proven Best Buys Get Better

The recent edition of the highly respected What to Buy For Business awards, evaluating and advising on the purchase of paper shredders, has once again proven the quality and value for money of HSM products. The Company has been awarded more than half of the Best Buy awards available.

This year, the number of Best Buy classifications has been restricted to only seven. However, with HSM winning four of these their shredders dominated the results. HSMs direct competitors within the office products distribution channel did not win any of the highest classifications.

With a wide number of variations for straight and cross cut blade arrangements available, the Best Buy awards actually cover over twenty different HSM models.

To enhance their range still further, HSM is now introducing a complete range of shredders that generate the smallest particle size currently possible in the commercial market. These Level 6 machines produce particles that are almost half the square area of what were previously the best performing Level 5 shredders. Users can be even surer that their information has been destroyed so helping to prevent fraud even further. The new Level 6 shredders are available from HSM now.

Successful Start with Spiceis

Following a very successful first year with Spicers in 2002, sales of HSM Shredders through the UKs major wholesaler continue to grow exponentially. Turnover for HSM products during the initial months of 2003 rose by a highly impressive 175 percent.

HSM first entered into partnership with Spicers only just over eighteen months ago. However, both companies have been very pleased with the success and excellent results achieved.

When invited to comment Richard Dear of Spicers said “We have been very pleased with the excellent growth achieved since we included the HSM range into our catalogue, and, even better, the increase is continuing.”

As a founder exhibitor, HSM will again be at the SOS Shows in the autumn.

New Guillotines and Trimmers

HSM’s cutting edge expertise and technology has been utilised to develop a new range of paper trimmers and guillotines.

Similar to the shredders, the new products combine German manufacturing quality with competitive, value for money prices. There are a total of 18 different models in the range, all of which are packaged in smart HSM boxes making them suitable for both commercial and retail sale.

Why digital copiers?

Digital copier technology is designed to streamline the entire document imaging process.

Unlike the complex mechanical paper handling systems of conventional analog models, digital copiers have a built-in scanner which reads the image of an original, converts it into a digital electronic signal, then reproduces it from memory.

The result is digitally-produced text and photos as a rule appear more accurate and have greater consistency than analog copies.

Scan Once Print Many
A copier with the ‘Scan Once Print Many’ feature allows users to leave the copier with their original after it has been scanned once by the copier, regardless of how many copies the machine has been programmed to make.  Each page that crosses the copier glass is scanned into memory.

The copies are then printed from the image held in memory, not the actual document.  Not only does this free users from having to wait the copier while their originals are tied up, but it also allows the copier to handle each page only once, minimizing damage to the original documents.

Electronic Sorting

Most digital copiers also support electronic sorting, so sorter bins are not required to make collated sets of documents. The documents are sorted in memory before printing.

Reliability
By nature of their technology, digital copiers require fewer moving parts, and so are less likely to jam or break down.

Quite operation
Because of these fewer moving parts, digital copiers also have a reputation for being less noisy than analogs.

Quality

The quality of copies, when reproducing text, graphics or photos, is more accurate and has a greater consistency than analogue.

Digital copier as printer

Add a printer module to a digital copier and it can double as a printer, outputting high-quality laser printouts at the same speed it makes copies.

Digital copier as fax

With the addition of a fax module, you can send faxes right from the copier glass, or through the document feeder. This is particularly helpful if you need to fax part of a bound document.
